Silicon-manganese alloy is an important alloy material, mainly composed of silicon and manganese, which is usually used in the production of iron and steel to improve the strength, wear resistance and toughness of steel. Its composition generally consists of 14% – 30% silicon and 60% – 70% manganese, with small amounts of iron and other elements. Silicon-manganese alloys are key additives in the steelmaking process as they not only increase the oxidation resistance of steel but also improve its desulfurization. Commonly available in granular or lump form, they are widely used in metallurgy, foundry and welding industries.
